Course Requirements
To make the most of our time together, here's a quick checklist to help you prepare:
✅ *Complete these before Day 1:
1. Watch this 10-minute video [What is Python & Why Use It?]
2. Set up a Google account, if you don’t already have one (we’ll use Google Colab).
3. Explore this notebook: [Python Basics – Colab Intro]
→ Just click through and read the comments—no coding required!
4. Bring a curious mind 🧠 and feel free to jot down any questions that come up.
It is not Mandatory to learn everything beforehand—the goal is to make sure you feel comfortable navigating the platform and get a taste of what Python can do.
Course Description
Workshop Overview: Python Programming and Data Analysis – 2025 Edition
Unlock the power of Python in this hands-on workshop tailored for beginners and aspiring data professionals! With Python continuing to dominate the programming landscape in 2025, there's no better time to start your journey. This workshop is designed to build strong foundational skills and introduce essential data analysis techniques using real-world datasets.
We'll begin by answering Why Learn Python?, and explore its soaring demand across industries due to its simplicity, flexibility, and powerful libraries. From there, we’ll dive into Basic Python Programming, covering core concepts like variables, expressions, control flow, functions, recursion, and working with files and classes. Participants will also get introduced to NumPy, Python’s backbone for numerical computing.
Next, we’ll transition into Data Visualization, where you’ll learn how to preprocess data, identify different data types (nominal, ordinal, discrete, and continuous), and visualize data relationships such as distribution, comparison, composition, and correlation.
In the Data Analysis module, we’ll apply what you’ve learned to real datasets. You’ll:
Perform clustering using penguin data from the Palmer Archipelago.
Conduct linear regression with the SAS diabetes dataset.
Apply classification techniques to the Breast Cancer Wisconsin dataset.
Course Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, you’ll not only understand Python programming basics but also how to analyze and draw insights from data—a critical skill in today’s data-driven world. Join us and take the first step toward becoming future-ready with Python!Course Curriculum
